"Building a bar of Mosaic Damascus"

:
Building Mosaic Damascus is a series of steel manipulations, limited only by your imagination and patience.
The process requires several steps in which the steel is heated and pressed in different directions to form a desired pattern.
:
After achieving your desired pattern(or just running out of patience), The billet must be ground to remove all of the built-up scale formed during the forging process. The billet is then cut in an "Accordian" style, to prepare it for "Unfolding".
After "Accordian" cutting the billet, you then attach new handles and put the billets back into the forge. After Re-heating the billet, you can very gently and methodically, un-fold the billet. This will allow the pattern to be revealed.
Flatten and square up the bar of mosaic on the press & You are ready to begin forging a mosaic Damascus knife.
All of this has only taken about 2-3 days to accomplish!!!
